Open daily to pedestrian traffic year round
Open to vehicular traffic April 1st thru November 30th
Park rules:
Parking in designated areas only.
No parking ongrass.
Dogs welcome: Please use dog litter stations to clean up after your dog.
No ATVs, off-road motorized bikes or snowmobiles.
All trash generated must be put in trash receptacles.
No hunting on park property.
ABSOLUTELY no alchohol permitted on park property.
The Plato Park is home to the Illinois Central R.R. Depot Museum
The museum will be open for special events in the park, and by appointment.
The museum is located in a "1940's Era" small town railroad depot. The depot museum sits in Plato Park on Stonecrest Drive--just off Russell Road in Plato Center, Illinois.
The museum is not only a Railroad Museum, but it also shows the history of a small rural town. The depot, also, was the setting for several scenes of a Civil war movie shot in 2005.
