Meet Beth Gehrke, Plato Town Clerk
The Township Clerk is the Clerk for the Township Board. Township Clerks do not vote except in the case of a tie vote to fill a vacancy in a Township office. The Clerk is also a keeper of the township’s records, the Clerk of all town meetings, and the ex-officio Clerk for the Highway Commissioner. An important responsibility of the Township Clerk is to keep minutes of all town meetings and Township Board meetings.
The Clerk is the local election authority and responsible for accepting petitions concerning local elections or referendums involving the township.
I was born and raised in Plato Township, and have lived here most of my life. I have seen the changes in the township throughout the years and know that it's a great place to live. My husband and I, along with our 2 grown children operate a grain and hay farm. I was elected Clerk in the last election and am looking forward to serving Plato Township.
